| Test objectives and benefits |
Purpose ![]() Labor shortages are becoming more serious at Japanese agricultural sites. For this reason, a new status of residence, "Specified Skilled Workers," has been created as a new framework for accepting foreign human resources who can play an active role in Japanese agricultural fields as a labor force. In addition to the foreign technical intern training system, expectations are rising as a mechanism to support the maintenance and development of Japanese agriculture. In order for foreigners to work in the agricultural field through this project, it is necessary to meet the requirements such as knowledge and skills related to agriculture stipulated by the Government of Japan. Therefore, with the assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the National Chamber of Agriculture will conduct a test (agricultural skill measurement test) to confirm and evaluate foreigners' knowledge and skills related to agriculture before entering Japan from 2019. Among them, two types of tests, "cultivated agriculture" and "livestock agriculture", will be conducted. These two types of exams include exam questions to confirm and evaluate whether you have the necessary Japanese proficiency to carry out agricultural support activities. Merit ![]() If you pass this exam, you will be recognized as "a person who has the skills that require a considerable amount of knowledge or experience in agriculture", which is a requirement for working in Japan. The outline of the requirements is summarized in "■ Institutional requirements". In addition, in order to actually work in Japan through this business, you need to be hired by an appropriate accepting organization. |
